VoIP

What is VoIP?

VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is simply the transmission of voice
traffic over IP-based networks.

VoIPs are what I believe the direction phone services are heading. More and more people are opting to use the internet as a long distance phone service provider. Internet connections are faster then ever before so the quality of communication over the internet has also improved. Using the internet to speak to friends, family or for business is the next step in internet technology.
Many of us have used IP-based phone service software but have been quickly disappointed in the quality of connection. The delayed echoing sounds as well as other gliches have given some of us a bad view of this kind of phone service. With the faster internet connections I am assuming that these type of problems have improved.
